Community-Based Women’s Organization Focuses on Important Goals Including Youth Education and Supporting Minority-Owned Businesses
LAS VEGAS –– Get It Girl LLC announced today they will be delivering empowerment and support to the women of Las Vegas, Nevada through a series of events and networking groups aimed at elevating education, employment and mentorship opportunities.
Get It Girl will focus their efforts on a number of timely and important topics that affect women and girls: youth education, giving back to the community and supporting minority-owned businesses through pop-up events that feature fashion, accessories, clothing and other products.
“The Get It Girl website is also featuring a wide range of fashion and accessories, all on offer from black or minority-owned businesses,” said Executive Director Charmaine Wilcox, adding that in addition, five STEM-driven scholarships will be available from Get It Girl to those who qualify for careers in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math industries.
Get It Girl’s website also offers a resource for women to feel empowered and uplifted through self-care reminders and tips for new mothers to care for themselves even while caring for their kids.
“Get It Girl is all about offering local minority and disenfranchised women the chance to thrive,” said Wilcox. “Giving a leg up to those struggling in our society and arming them with the tools that they need to personally and professionally succeed is our number one goal,” she added.
